An all Malaysian affair

It was a dinner we all needed. After weeks of slaving in front of our books, the dinner seemed like a real rejuvenating experience. This time we went for a Chinese dinner at a cozy little cafe called Jinling. This somewhat small cafe amazingly could accommodate 8 noisy lot of us.

We ate good food,the best I had since coming here(though I hope there is more to come :P).

There were 8 of us Grace,J.T,yu shan,jord,bernard,khai xiang,and a Fitz dude,didnt quite catch his name...oh and me of course.

We sat and talked about almost everything we could think about.

Adjourned to McD's after the owner started give us the 'looks'.

Sorry I haven't been blogging much lately..This is probably why

The day was a Saturday. Gloomy and wet is what England is all about. So, feeling depressed I headed out with a bunch of friends to Grafton Centre to catch a movie,Saw 4. Not a recommended show for people with weak stomachs,like me. I had my eyes covered the whole time.

I am not going to give a review of the movie but it is just gross.

Don't know why i agreed to watch it.

Anyway, after that I had to rush all the way back to college to meet up with another friend(Siew Kit) to go for the Deeparaya Dinner. By that time, I was really fatigued.

Held at Downing place, the dinner was quite alright. I imagined they had put a lot of effort into making this dinner work. We had rice with rendang and curry chicken.

I met a few Malaysian whom I keep in contact with in Camb.

All in all, it was quite an enjoyable time.

Later, met up with ding jian and shirley to get our presents!Thanksssss..the cups are really nice!

After that, I hopped over to Downing to take a good look at Yee Yan's room. Awesome looking place.

T'was a nice day to go for a stroll and so we did. Having realise that I needed some materials for my blog,I brought along with me my trusty camera and took a few shots of the city.

We had to buy some groceries so we walked all the way. It was really tiring but when we had dinner it was certainly worth the walk.

I would take some time off to give a little explanation about the pictures taken. Not too much,I don't want it to be dreary. Just enough.:P

Yeah, I guess my blog is pretty inactive. So I decided that I should be more active for now on, it is some kind of resolution.

Ok, in this post, I would like to narrate a little story behind our ship(sheep) called MARAM. I know it is little confusing now, but it would soon become clear as I continue the story.

Well, this was certainly weird. I was actually supposed to post this before "the former and latter". But because of Brian...the other dude caught doing stupid stuff with me..was a bit slow, I had to postpone this post!!

Anyway, I have been feeling great here. Met some nice people here, at least I don't have to eat alone. I always hated eating alone. It feels a bit pathetic but there is always a phase in my life where I have to eat alone, or die starving.

Hey guys!!I've finally arrived.Phew,been a furious and stressful week for all those going abroad(or was it only me...).Anyways, UK is generally cold, gloomy, rainy and unpredictable. People here are generally nice enough to want to talk to me.(hehehe..i haven't shown my true colours yet!!)

A temporary suspension

Due to the lack of activity with the event that most of my friends are leaving, I had no material to blog on.

Having said that, we had a couple of farewell parties in the last few days.

The saga continues

I will resume the normal transmission this time round.

After the award-presentation ceremony, Ming Hann had to venture back to Singapore to resume studies. It was mighty kind of him to come down all the way just to be with us. MH(as he is affectionately known as) was to leave at 1130 am from 1u on board the aeroline bus the very next day.

Prior to his departure, we had breakfast at Devi's Corner for an Indian breakfast. We had the works(e.g roti canai, maggi mee goreng, tosai, roti telur bawang and etc.). It was a hearty meal. We sat and talked till late. since it was pretty late, we left for Leb's house for one final send off. We fetched MH to the bus terminal and said our goodbyes.

It is always hard to say goodbye although we said it many times before.

Shern's departure

As a tribute to OUR Shern, I fast-forwarded the narration of my life to give a lil' something back to Shern. The program shall resume next time round.

The first impression I had of Shern was that he was this hippie, flower children dude that never really forgave the U.S of getting involved in the Nam war. Honestly, I was pretty spooked by him. Then he rattled off some intangible yet funny remark about...(argh..something..I can't remember), and I knew we could get along like best buddies.

Sardonic, sarcastic and stupid are probably the 3 S's(pronounced asses) to described Shern. Being gay, he has a affinity for that certain orifice (gahahaha..U can't do nuts to me Shern). Despite his HUMBLE demeanor, Shern possesses an Uber Intelligence exceeding the national average level!!Way to go Shern!!...Plus he can speak klingon too..talk about people blessed with linguistic talent. Shern is one to be envied.

As for sarcasm, Shern is just full of it. JW who is always slow in catching things feels the wrath of his twisted humour and insinuation (like 10 days later).

Stupid could probably be one of my ways to getting back at him as he is far from it. But he does do a lot of stupid stuff if I may say so myself.

Damn, feeling all emo now....

HAHA..anyways, you take care dude. Show Brown what a Shern can do!

Another KL trip

Kuala Lumpur, the bustling capital of Malaysia. For people like me, residing in the suburban city of Petaling Jaya, KL seems very distant. Therefore, a trip to KL seems like a fitting adventure for kampung boys such as myself.

I shan't bore you with petty details, so I'll get straight to the juicy bits.

We (CL,KW,Leb,Hehn and JW) boarded the LRT(light railway transit-u noobs!!!) to KL sentral where we arranged to rendezvous with Shern and Jun Sheng. Boy was KL sentral a hectic place. Crowds of commuters were filing in and out of the station. We met, said our hi's, and started our little walk to board the Monorail. Thankfully, the path leading to the monorail was shaded. Though I must comment about the stalls set up along the pathway..such an ingenious way to market your wares.

Here, there was a slight glitch in the system. Jun Sheng's touch&go was giving him problems. But it was soon rectified. We happily boarded the monorail. As a crude description of the monorail, it looked like a worm that lost it's tail( or head). But it was a fun ride.

We exited at the Times Square station. Here, Leb encountered a problem. A fine of RM3!!Leb was furious. There we made our way to find my schoolmates. At the entrance of Metrojaya, we met Cheok Hao, Josh, Xiang and May Shi. Together, we went to Low Yatt plaza to get some gadgets.

It was a dreary time at Low Yatt. Just shops and shops selling computer accessories. After that, we hop over to Lot 10 and had a meal at the food court. The food was OK. Not too appealing neither was it too disgusting.

By this time, fatigue seemed to be catching up on us. So we walked slowly back to the monorail station. This time, the Jln Imbi station. So I tried to beep my way through but my touch&go wouldn't respond. Apparently, I did not beep that blasted thing properly at one of the stations. N got slapped with a RM3 fine!!!Baka..!!My mind was just filled with profanities now.

Until I could not find my friends.

OMG!I was ALONE.

I panicked. Suddenly I received a call from Xiang.

XL: Where are you?!

JW: Still at the station..My card gave me some problem la..tiu

XL:Aiya, we thought you were on board already

JW: No la..nvm I'm coming soon

I boarded the monorail and received another call..this time it is shern

Shern: hey jackass, are you alright?

JW: nice time to call me jackass heh

Shern: Aww, don't cry la wei

JW: I was left behind..you bunch of ffkers

Shern: We really didn't know

JW:It's alright..this is not the first time anyway

Shern: We'll meet you at the station

call dropped..

True enough, they waited for me at the station. Then we continued our journey home.

Although the day was marred by SOME problems, it was altogether a fun day, full of suspense and terror. Tune in next time for more!!!

As the sun shone it's first rays through my windows, I was filled with glee knowing what a wonderful day it is going to be. It was a day to be remembered as KS finally permitted us to TRASH his tidy+neat+clean+large home.

Lethargic, I clambered out of bed and shuffled to the toilet. Then came Kar Wai punctual as always at my front door. I promised to have breakfast with him today. After exchanging pleasantries and waiting for my sis to wake up,the trio marched towards Atria for a "dim sum" breakfast.

At the dim sum diner, we order siew mai + some other dim sum,lo mai kai, woo kok (roasted yam stuffed with meat). KW was busy checking out some girl that happened to sit opposite him. Distracted, I managed to get a heartier meal.

We then went to pick Cl and Leb. At Leb's place, Hehn was already there in front of the computer talking to my step mother Wei Kiat on skype(a bare necessity for all). After a bunch of cacophony made by me..we adjourned to da Kitchen for some scrumptious lunch prepared by Leb's Mum(thanks auntie..and sorry for being such a freeloader).

After a hearty meal, KW, Leb, Cheelynn, Wei Hehn and me began our lil' exodus to Shern's private property. We met yvc at Centre Point and we were off. The roads to Shern's house were real winding, but idyllic. I was expecting to see monkeys but the only ones I saw were Kw and Leb and Hehn.

We finally reached to Shern's abode. As usual, we were subjected to body searches and interrogations. It was like Fort Knox.

Shern's house was superb..Really beautiful!We could see the whole skyline of KL from his room. It was one of those moments when you feel like you have so much to see and experience.

Well, we checked out his house.Made a mess of his room.kinda of spoiled his touch-pad lamps. played with his computer. slept in his bed(not alone!!!)

A day for IELTS+friends+dinner

Woken up at an ungodly hour to the sound of my alarm. After preparing myself, KW arrived to send us to college for our IELTS examination. IELTS examination was dull and dreary. Nothing of interest to note.

After 3 hours of being sedentary (we couldn't leave our chairs),it was finally over. Had lunch then accompanied KW to placement day held at the MPH. There were a few universities setting up booths there.

Later, I rushed to 1u to meet up with some of me ol' pals. Winson,Cheok Hao,Johan,Xiang Li,Joshua,May Shi, We Rin,Wai kwan and others were there just to name a few. Caught up on old times, talked crap and reminisced about our life before this. Got a lil vodka cup courtesy of May!

Then I had to go for a dinner.Not bad food but certainly zero ambience.

They say that time catches up real quick when you're having fun. Well, I certainly didn't expect it. Anyway, it is now August and the most important day of the month has come and gone(no it is not the 31st).I am now officially 19.

On my bday, Chee Lynn suggested we all have a game of badminton in the morning. It was a scenic morning with birds chirping and gentle breeze blew. We rendezvous at our usual badminton court for a casual game of badminton. A competition ensued with me playing against four buffaloes(CL,Leb,KW,shern). However, the hero(JW) prevailed.

After playing badminton, I went home to take a shower. a little before 2,JJ came and I had to rush to put on some clothes. Then off we went to CL's place to pick her up and went to Leb's place for "lunch". Upon arrival, I was surprised to see senpai(Tim Weng) waiting outside. We greeted warmly with handshake and air kisses. Then we all hopped into Tim Weng's Huge Car for a little joy-ride.

After a lot of profanities screamed across the phone lines, they finally settled for a parking space at central park. That was weird. JJ and I were trying to persuade him to park in the shaded car park but he persisted. Since I was a bit blur at that moment, I couldn't analyse the situation clearly. Though it became clear when I felt a water balloon smashing on me. AHHH!!Ambush!..So I did a 360 flip to dodge the oncoming onslaught and cartwheel across the field. Seeing I was cornered, I did a somersault and managed to fend them off.

Phew!My nerves have finally calmed down. A suspense filled day,A-levels results are out!!.

Well the day started with Tim Weng(the senpai/tenzai) arriving punctually at 10.50 to send me to Chee Lynn's place. Senpai had an appointment with his orthodontist to fix his braces. Arriving at CL's place, I was greeted by a solemn(and lethargic) CL whom I guessed had just woken up. The conversation quickly plunged into the impending results. She was a nervous wreck. Fidgeting and constantly rambling about what she might get, she succeeded in getting me all "emo".

The melancholy of Jian-wei began. I was all fatalistic,threatening to lock myself in the room if i got bad and..blahblah. Then came Tim Weng to the rescue. On the way to college, we 4 Tim weng & friend +CL+JW had a reserved conversation. Only the results mattered.

Arrived a little after 1 at MPH. Witnessed smiling faces of Eric and JJ(PE1 class heroes). Now I was really nervous. Kar Wai was like ushering us into the hall to collect our results. I hesitated. I needed to pee. Later, I entered the hall.

It was suprisingly quite inside despite the amount of ppl there. I sign and got the first look at my results. The world suddenly turned quiet. Sounds were being muffled. I was delirious!!Yay!Finally i got what i wanted.

CONGRATULATIONS TO PE1 STUDENTS!YOU GUYS OUTDID YOURSELVES ONCE AGAIN.(am a pe1 product and proud to be one)..lolx

T'was a gloomy day,Chee Lynn needed to get something fixed at Leb's place. So by 4,we went to Leb's domain to seek for the antidote for cheelynn's microphone + printer. I was still procrastinating my studying for my IELTs which looms like a deluge (on the 8th..ahhhh!!!!!).

So packed with my renewed vigour to study for my IELTs, I trudged my trusty laptop to Leb's. But what was I thinking,how can I ever study at Leb's!There's always something to do. Eventually I settled for watching a teaser of 'The Prestige'.The critically acclaimed movie reviewed by Leb.

At home,I got bored and started taking photos with my obsolete hp.

KL Pc fair+Sue Bee's Birthday

Ya,you guys must think i am the geeky,gadget-freak type but in truth I don't know a thing bout computers. Anyways, today my family was hosting an Iraqi family(made up of papa,mama and daughter). After having breakfast, we went to meet them at Duta Vista(executive suites somewhere near Duta).Real nice place,they even had penguins (real penguins..they acclimatised them). After exchanging pleasantries, we started for KLCC.

It was congested. The volume of people going to KLCC was enormous. Parking bays were full,however,we were lucky enough to get a place. Walked to KL Convention Center via the underpass leb,JJ and me found. Air-conditioned all the way,didn't even break a sweat. On entering,we were greeted by level 9 chicks again(they don't seem that hot after the second glance).
Visited the usually booths,help Uncle Mo(Iraqi dude) to get a laptop. The ladies were bored silly.

After shuffling slow around the entire convention center. we went to get some lunch at the food court in KLCC. It wasn't so much of a food court cause everything cost RM9+. Had a horrid lunch made up of butter rice,2 satay sticks,sprinkle of onions and 2 slices of cucumber.

We sat and talked till late. Then I had to rush for Sue Bee's party.(left kar wai there,but he made the best of it by meeting chicks).Arrived a little after 10,met her friends,couldn't communicate. So i stuck with yvonne and jia may,and joked. At 11,we left.

The day started when Caleb(leb) arrived at my home approximately at noon. Carrying his trusty camera case and a bag filled with some misc. he filed into my house. Soon Jian Jun arrived at my door step,signaling with his usually 'tooot'. Then we were off.

We drove to Kelana Jaya station to board the LRT to KLCC. Not surprising, we couldn't find a place to park. Ingeniously, Jian Jun managed to park his car just outside his friends house. Saved us tonnes of trouble. Then, we bought tixs and boarded the LRT. Nothing interesting to note about the trip there.

At KLCC, we were famished from all the public transport traveling and settled for lunch at KFC. Being the more matured one, I volunteered to book a place(it was crowded) while Leb and JJ bought their food. I smsed my order to them. Amazingly, neither of them bought my lunch.(thanks leb JJ). Apparently JJ told Leb to buy it for me,but Leb assumed that JJ had already bought. That left Jian-Wei(me btw) with nothing. queued up again to buy. And to top it off, they threatened to leave me behind since i was slow in eating.

after that farce, we hurriedly dashed to the KL convention center.Such a dazzling sight. It was a building clad only with glass panes. Inside, we were directed like lab rats round a maze to the Halls where everything is held. On entering, "pow" level 9 chicks everywhere passing out brochures. guys were just ogling at them.(not me)We went in search of laptops and other geeky gadgets.

soon it was time to go,we rushed back to the LRT station,and speedily made it back to KJ.JJ and Leb was exhausted(guess they were straining too hard), came over to my house and slept. Kar Wai came a little later.

Then we went to Chee Lynn's house for her party(woohooo!!!)En-route,we picked Michelle and shern up. We had a grand entrance with sparkles and fireworks and warm wishes. Actually i just got a "stupiaks y so late" from the hostess,Chee Lynn. We ate ,made merry and joked. we laughed a lot that night.(wakakakakas) The guest consisted of Leb,JJ,Kar wai, Michelle,yvonne, shern, timweng,wei kiat,hehn and hehn b-utiful gf.+ cheelynn of course.

At 10 CL,shooed us and we went to KTZ in SS2 for after party drinks. Most of the guest came along with the exception of Hehn + Gf. oh yeah, Cl bro Chee Yuen joined us.(he must like me)
Around 11 something, we went home. Fin.

This is the very first post on my very first blog. Being very new at this blogging thing,I welcome any suggestion to help improve my blog. Starting a blog is simple enough, however,sustaining it seems to be the toughest bit yet.

This blog is meant strengthen ties and make new ones, hence the name 'Reunions'. Sounding nostalgic eh...I figured the best way to reminisce about the past would be to start a blog. Relaying my life as it is,non-fictionalised, would allow my friends( those who actually venture to this part of cyberspace) to share what i had experienced.

As some say, old friends like wine ought to be treasured.
